Our Story
From family roots in waste & sanitation — to a global HOCl solution
Ethitec began as a small, family-owned business with decades of experience serving the garbage disposal industry across the United States and Canada. When the founders eventually exited that industry, they still carried a deep passion for helping their long-time customers — and that passion became the foundation for Ethitec.
A family legacy of solving the toughest hygiene problems
For generations, the family behind Ethitec built their reputation in the US & Canadian garbage disposal sector — working shoulder-to-shoulder with haulers, municipalities, transfer stations, and facility operators to keep operations running safely. They understood firsthand how challenging, labour-intensive, and critical effective sanitation, degreasing, and odour control really are — especially when conventional chemicals fall short.
When the founders decided to exit the garbage disposal industry, they refused to walk away from the customers and communities they had served for decades. Instead, they asked themselves a simple question: how can we keep helping these operators solve problems that still haven't been solved well? That question led directly to the creation of Ethitec.
Built on a foundation of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) chemistry — a science-backed, environmentally-responsible biocide — the Ethitec product range was designed to deliver results without the harshness of traditional sanitisers and degreasers. What started as an answer for their loyal customer base quickly became a much-needed solution across the United States, Canada, and — in time — around the world.
